Our new web site!

By Editor | On Tue, June 18, 2013

Our old web site had served us well over the years, but just as it was with our booking engine, it was time for some new technology and a new design. We hope you like the result!

What’s new?

  • Our new layout focuses on our most important products and services; our Booking Engine solution, our Traffic Builder team, our Site Builder team, and our brand new Distribution Manager
  • You can now select your country/language from any page on the site
  • The site is responsive and optimized for various sized devices, so it works well on mobiles and tablets as well as large screens
  • We no longer use Google for site searches
  • We no longer use Blogger for news and blog posts, and every Bookassist office now has its own dedicated news and blog section. Catch up on the latest news en Français for example!
  • Our company contact page has had a bit of a makeover to make finding us even easier
  • We’ve got a big green button at the top of every page that makes it even easier to get in touch with us quickly
  • Just like the websites our Site Builder team builds for our client hotels, our corporate site now uses a powerful content management system called Expression Engine, which allows us to continue to add great features to the site. So check back soon!

Bewley’s Hotels Corporate Rewards Programme provides the perfect model to launch Bookassist’s New Co

By Des O'Mahony | On Wed, May 05, 2010

Bewley’s Hotels, one of Ireland and the UK’s leading hotel groups and a major online hotel brand (Bewleyshotels.com), has today announced the significant enhancement & automation of their Corporate Rewards Programme, to benefit and incentivize their corporate bookers and grow their corporate booker base. The programme is managed by Bookassist’s Corporate and Loyalty software systems.

With Bewley’s Hotels’ re-launched Corporate Rewards programme, corporate bookers can accumulate points with each booking they make, according to criteria set by the hotels. The system tracks all points accumulated and displays to the client in their login area a menu of very attractive rewards that they can choose to redeem their points against. These can be accommodation, restaurant or any other reward that the hotel chooses to offer, such as shopping vouchers.

The hotel can manually top-up corporate customer points also, and a complete history of points and rewards is available to view in the system by both hotel and client.

Speaking about the launch, Bookassist Director Karen Fives said: “Bewley’s Hotels is one of the most successful online hotel brands in the Irish & UK marketplace, and we are very pleased to be able to supply a highly flexible system that can meet their needs and the needs of their corporate customers. We think this has the potential to make Bewley’s Hotels an even more attractive proposition than it already is, and attract significant new corporate bookers.”

“Competition for hotels these days is fierce with customers having more choices and more information than ever before. At Bewley’s Hotels we understand the importance of recognizing and rewarding loyal customers and are delighted to launch this new corporate loyalty scheme with Bookassist. We believe that rewarding our corporate bookers will serve not only to show our appreciation for their support but will also encourage them to become advocates for Bewley’s Hotels going forward, spreading the word about all we have to offer and in turn increasing our corporate customer base” - Tracey Moran, Communications Director, Moran & Bewley’s Hotels

Bewley’s Hotels, now part of the Moran Hotel Group offers the epitome of affordable chic in strategic locations across Dublin, Leeds and Manchester Airport. Bookassist and protel announce technology integration, further streamlines online business for hotel

By Des O'Mahony | On Thu, January 07, 2010

In a major upgrade to its XML Connector technology, protelDublin-based hotel technology and online strategy firm Bookassist (bookassist.org) has announced the successful integration of its award-winning online booking engine with the protel (protel-hotel-software.com) hotel property management system (PMS).

The solution allows hotels using protel PMS products in-house and Bookassist’s booking engine on their websites to seamlessly connect the two technologies. Incoming reservations from the website booking engine are automatically passed to the PMS, eliminating the need for any management or intervention by hotel staff.

Time and cost savings are the obvious advantage for hotels, together with improved accuracy of data in the PMS and a more up-to-the-minute representation of availability.

The OTA/XML-based integration of the two systems has already been deployed across all hotels in the ARCOTEL Hotel group (arcotelhotels.com) in Austria, Germany and Croatia. According to Manfred Mayer, CEO of ARCOTEL Hotels, “At ARCOTEL, we needed a fully integrated solution from online booking engine to front desk, and Bookassist’s successful integration with protel has given us exactly what we need. We are very happy with the results and it has streamlined our reservations operation considerably.”

Speaking about the collaboration, Dr Robert Whittle CTO & Founder at Bookassist commented: “Using our OTA/XML interface layer, connections with compliant systems such as protel’s PMS is now a straightforward task. protel’s interface team in Dortmund and Bookassist’s core development team in Madrid worked very closely to bring this integrated solution to the market place in a very short space of time, and we see great opportunities for further collaboration for our joint clients in the future.”

Manfred Osthues, co-founder and managing director of protel, shares this point of view: “At protel, we never lose sight of the most important purpose of our software: to optimise our customers’ workflows and thus improve their operational effectiveness. We are pleased that with Bookassist we have found yet another partner who shares our goal and are looking forward to further successful cooperations.”

protel is now the leading PMS vendor seamlessly connected with Bookassist’s hotel booking engine via the XML Connector technology. Further announcements will be made in the coming weeks regarding market-leading vendors connecting to XML Connector.

Bookassist and Hotelpoints ink expanded 3 year deal bringing an estimated 30M Euro in business to ho

By Des O'Mahony | On Tue, January 27, 2009

Leading online reservations technology company Bookassist (bookassist.org) and Ireland’s top customer rewards scheme Hotelpoints (hotelpoints.ie) have announced another 3 year deal estimated to bring over €8M in revenue to Ireland hotels in 2009 alone and over €30M over the course of the deal.

Bookassist, with its online booking capability and call-centre management system, has had a very successful 3 year partnership with WINWIN Hotelpoints to the end of 2008, back-ending the online and offline Hotelpoints customer rewards vouchers for over 20 partners such as DID Electrical, Londis, Woodies, Atlantic Homecare, Shaws, O2, Heatons, Zurich, Sasha and Bank of Ireland.

“Bookassist manages almost 300 hotels online in Ireland for WINWIN Hotelpoints, each featuring unique special offers and deals accessible only to Hotelpoints voucher holders”, said Mary Collins, Head of Internet Marketing for Bookassist. “Hotelpoints is by far the largest and most popular loyalty scheme in the country and our hotels see clear value in making attractive offers available through such a prestigious channel”.

Kieran Fives, Director of Sales at Bookassist notes that hotels continue to join the scheme at a rapid rate: “Especially in the current climate, the opportunity to be in front of a dedicated customer base and to reap the rewards of return custom is something that our hotels are very keen to participate in. This represents a win for the hotel, a win for the partner company, and a win for the price-conscious customer.”

James Lenehan, Managing Director of WINWIN Hotelpoints is very upbeat on the scheme’s rapid growth. “We are planning to specifically target the Insurance & Media sectors in 2009 to help grow our client base, and extend the reach of our promotions”, said Lenehan. “We will also open up Northern Ireland as a new growth area and we will roll out the Butler & Bell Hotel Privilege Club as part of our plans, and build loyalty across the existing people that have booked a Hotelpoints package over the last 3 years”.

Hotelpoints works by allowing partner companies to offer loyalty vouchers to their customers, for example when they reach certain spending thresholds. The voucher code allows access to a private online system of hotels throughout the country operated by Bookassist, offering 50% or more discount to voucher holders and other special deals. Lenehan says that Hotelpoints will print upwards of 1,000,000 vouchers in 2009 alone for distribution to customer loyalty schemes in partner businesses throughout the country. “This represents an increase of 30% year on year compared to our most successful year to date in 2008.”

The list of hotel campaigns will be promoted across Ireland, with expected promotional investment by partners and WINWIN Hotelpoints of around €1,000,000 in 2009.

Bookassist is the industry-leading hotel booking engine and online marketing provider in Ireland and is expanding rapidly abroad with additional offices in Spain, France, Czech Republic, Scotland, Italy and Poland and a client base of over 2000 hotels. A Deloitte Fast 50 Technology Company in Ireland and in the Top 100 Deloitte Technology Companies in Europe, Bookassist has received numerous awards in Online Trade, Online Marketing, and Technological Innovation including the Irish Internet Association’s NetVisionary Award for online trade.
