Facebook Promotion Guidelines - Listen up!

Running Facebook promotions / competitions can be a great way for hotels to engage with their fans, build up their fan base and to promote their business online.
Unfortunately the majority of promotions that are currently been run on Facebook are in breach of the Facebook promotion guidelines.

Do people enter your contest by ‘liking’ your business page?
Is your promotion being run on your Facebook fan pages wall?
Do people enter your promotion by liking posts or leaving a comment?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above then you are in breach of the Facebook promotion guidelines.

Recently Facebook have been clamping down on fan pages which are not adhering to their promotion guidelines and in some cases shutting down fan pages without warning.

Considering the amount of work which goes into building up a fan page, this is not a risk you want to take.
